Connoisseur tasting tickets for the 19th Annual Kennett Brewfest sold out within a few hours of going on sale, but area residents can still tap into their thirst for craft beer.

Although regular tickets are expected to sell out, some are still available for the Saturday, Oct. 1, fundraiser. It will run from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., with more than 95 breweries represented. The participants run the gamut from Almanac Beer to Zero Day Brewing, and include local favorites such as Victory Brewing Company, Kennett Brewing Company and Sly Fox Brewing Company. General admission tickets, which include unlimited, two-ounce tastings and live music, cost $50; for designated drivers, the cost is $15, which includes non-alcoholic drinks. All ticket-holders must present proof of age at the door. To purchase tickets, click here.

The Kennett Brewfest is the winner of a Pennsylvania Downtown Center special event award. It was chosen for its economic impact on the community, the large attendance it generates, and the level of funding it provides to the program each year, according to Historic Kennett Square. Proceeds from the event are used to fund Kennett Square events, such as holiday parades.
