Chester County has updated its Hall of Heroes website.
Chester County has updated its Hall of Heroes website.

The new site updates the original website created in 2001, and allows easy navigation on smart phones and tablets as well as desktop computers and laptops, according to a county press release.

Chester County’s Hall of Heroes website tells the stories of many of Chester County’s military heroes whose names are featured on the Hall of Heroes memorial located in Chester County’s historic courthouse at the corner of High and Market streets in downtown West Chester.   These stories reflect the bravery of men and women who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and the War on Terror.

“In addition to the many heroes’ stories that have been researched and told by family and friends, there are names etched in marble, but whose story and images have been lost across time,” Chester County Director of Veterans Affairs Lawrence Davidson said in the release. “We welcome information from anyone who recognizes a name or two of soldiers listed on the Hall of Heroes website. Every soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine who gave the last full measure for our country has a story. Our duty is to ensure visitors have their story to reflect upon.”

The new Hall of Heroes website can be found at www.chesco.org/heroes.   Chester County’s Hall of Heroes memorial is located in the hallway of the historic courthouse at 21 W. Market St., West Chester.
