Summertime stargazing and socializing at one of the region’s premier conservation sites await guests of Friday Night Lights, the popular annual event hosted by Natural Lands Trust (NLT).

Now in its sixth year, Friday Night Lights, which typically sells out, will take place at the 1,263-acre ChesLen Preserve on Friday, July 8, rain or shine, starting at 7:30 p.m.

The event, for those 21 and over, offers an entertaining evening of listening to the music of Ben Arnold, observing the heavens, and enjoying libations amid an inspiring landscapes. Expert astronomers will train telescopes on faraway stars, inviting all to take a peek. Victory Brewing Company will provide its craft beer, including a signature brew created for the event, and wines will be offered by Borderland Vineyard.

In addition, sweet and savory snacks will be served, and marshmallows will be toasted over crackling fires. Guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets and wear sturdy shoes as the ground is uneven. Dogs and coolers are not permitted.

Tickets can be purchased online at natlands.org/fridaynightlights or by phone at 610-353-5587, ext. 243. A regular ticket – $25 for NLT or WXPN members, $35 for non-members – includes two free beverages redeemable for your choice of beer or wine. Additional beverages may be purchased.

This year a premium ticket has been added – $35 for WXPN members, $45 for non-members. It includes the benefits of the regular ticket plus VIP parking, prime seating in a reserved section, and a collectors’ pint glass.

Proceeds benefit NLT’s many conservation initiatives. The ChesLen Preserve is located in Newlin Township at 1199 Cannery Rd., Coatesville, Pa., 19320.
