The Duo, a jazz and blues group,  will perform a Valentine's Day-themed concert on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Darlington Arts Center.

The concert is BYOB, and guests are invited to bring a beverage of choice to enjoy by candlelight (wine glasses and corkscrews will be provided), according to a Darlington press release.

The Duo, who met through a local band, fuses the smooth vocal styling of singer/actress Demetria Joyce Bailey with the dynamic guitar-work from classically-trained musician Skip Barthold. The Duo embraces old school jazz and blues hits from artists including Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, George Gershwin, and Duke Ellington, along with a few surprises.

“We can be a little unconventional with our song choices,” Bailey said in the release, “taking audiences from standards like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, etc… all the way to Barry Manilow, the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and more!”

Doors open at 7 p.m., with an open microphone at 7:30 p.m., followed by The Duo at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission or $10 for Darlington members and include free coffee, tea, and snacks. Advance ticket purchase is recommended by calling 610-358-3632 or purchasing online at www.darlingtonarts.org.

Darlington Arts Center is located at 977 Shavertown Rd., Garnet Valley, Pa. For more information, visit www.darlingtonarts.org or call 610-358-3632.
