Parties endorse candidates for Chesco offices

At nominating conventions on Thursday, Feb. 19, both parties endorsed candidates for Chester County offices.

Democratic incumbent Chester County Commissioner Kathi Cozzone and West Chester Borough Councilman Bill Scott earned the endorsement for county commissioner. On the Republican side, the choices were incumbent Commissioner Terence Farrell and Commissioner Michelle H. Kichline, appointed last month to fill the vacancy created when U.S. Rep. Ryan Costello left for Washington.

Receiving endorsements for a spot on the Chester County bench were Democrat Julia Malloy-Good, a West Chester lawyer, and Allison Royer, a former county Prothonotary.

The endorsed Democratic candidates for county rows offices are Hans von Mol for Recorder of Deeds, Lani Frank for Register of Wills, Tisha Brown for Prothonotary, and Tom Purl for District Attorney. The Democrats did not endorse a candidate for Sheriff.

The Republicans selected incumbent Recorder of Deeds Rick Loughery, incumbent Register of Wills Terri Clark; Matt Holliday for Prothonotary; incumbent District Attorney Tom Hogan and incumbent Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh.

The primary election will be held on May 19. According to Chester County Voter Services, the last day to register to vote in the primary is April 20.
