Frigid temps interrupt Wyeth exhibit

The bitterly cold temperatures have caused a partial shutdown of the Jamie Wyeth exhibit at the Brandywine River Museum of Art through the weekend.

“As a result of extraordinary cold weather, we have been experiencing a slight variation in the temperature range in part of the third floor Mill Gallery which led us to close this gallery temporarily, said Andrew Stewart, the director of marketing and communications for the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art. “This situation is being remedied, and we are planning to reopen to the public on Monday afternoon, Feb. 23.”

There was no damage to any of the art works. Part of the exhibit is also on the second floor of the museum, but that was not affected by the weather, Stewart added.

Visitors to the museum this weekend will get a voucher for another visit through the April 5 end of the exhibit.
