No new supervisor yet

The Chadds Ford Township Board of Supervisors is still a duet instead of a trio. The board, with Frank Murphy and George Thorpe, has not yet appointed a replacement for Keith Klaver, who resigned for health reasons last month.

Murphy said during the Feb. 2 meeting that the board has until Feb. 6 to appoint someone. If no one is named by then, the vacancy committee — supervisors and resident Gail Force, the vacancy officer — will have until Feb. 21 to appoint a replacement. If no one is named at that point, the Court of Common Pleas will appoint a replacement.

During the meeting, the board passed a resolution establishing hourly fees for appointed professionals.

The township solicitor will be paid $170 per hour, while the alternate solicitor will get $150 per hour. The solicitor for the Zoning Hearing Board is paid $75 per hour.

The hourly rate for the township engineer is $118, with the sewer authority engineer getting $110.
