Laura F. Sloan of Oxford

Laura F. Sloan, 92, of Oxford, died Friday, Nov. 21, at Ware Presbyterian Village. She was the wife of C. Mercer Sloan, who died in 2006, and with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in Spruce Grove, Pa., on Aug. 18, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Abigail Whiteside Furniss.

Mrs. Sloan was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Avondale Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Sloan and his wife Oksana of Perryville, Md. and William Sloan and his wife Karen of Millsboro, Del.; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bradley and her husband Larry of North East, MDd.; one sister, Helen Shank of  Lititz; three grandchildren  and six great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl Furniss  and John Furniss.

You are invited to attend her Memorial service at 11, Thursday morning, December 4, at the Avondale Presbyterian Church, 420 Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 41) in Avondale. Burial will be private.
