Roadwork for the week of Aug. 25

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Aug. 25 through Sept. 1. PennDOT recommends that motorists allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

Route 202 in both directions will require intermittent land closures in Birmingham, Thornbury, Westtown, West Goshen and West Whiteland Townships for work on ditches. Crews are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 29, from the Oxford Borough line to Hickory Hill Road.

The Route 322 Bypass in West Goshen and East Bradford Townships is scheduled for vegetation removal from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 29. Lane restrictions will occur between Rt. 202 and Downingtown Pike.

Cypress Street in the Borough of Kennett Square is scheduled for the installation of a traffic signal conduit and pole foundation from Monday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 29. The work, which will require lane closures at Meredith Street, will be done from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Gas main installation will continue on Tanguy Road in Thornbury Township through Friday, Aug. 29. Tanguy will be closed with a posted detour between Westtown Road and Route 926 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The roundabout project continues on Wawaset Road in Pocopson Township, which will be closed until Nov. 26 between Lenape-Unionville and Corinne Roads; detours are posted. Detours are also posted on Route 52, which will be closed through Nov. 26 between Pocopson and Locust Grove Roads in Pocopson Township for roundabout reconstruction.

Burnt Mill Road in Kennett Township is closed and detoured between Norway and Spring Mill Roads indefinitely while crews work to repair damage to a bridge that collapsed on April 24.

Route 202 in both directions will continue to require a traffic pattern shift between the Rt. 401 and Rt. 30 interchanges through May 2016 during the ongoing road reconstruction and widening.

Work is continuing to repair overhead bridge damage on northbound U.S. 202 in West Goshen Township. The right lane will be closed at all times between the Paoli Pike and U.S. 322 interchanges. A completion date has not been announced.

One lane will remain closed on I-95 North at the Commodore Barry Bridge for construction through July 14, 2015.
