Duane Allen Canipe, 64, of Landenberg, died Sunday, May 11.

He was the son of the late Allen J. and Katie Elaine Edwards Canipe.

Duane was a self-employed painter, who took great pride in his profession and his work.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, as an MP, in Vietnam. He was awarded several commendations for his bravery and leadership.

He was a member of the Kennett Square VFW, American Legion and the Italian American Club.

Duane was an avid reader and an excellent pool player who enjoyed being with his family and friends.

He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Duane is survived by two brothers, Gary D. Canipe and his wife Sandra of Avondale, and Dennis B. Canipe of Kennett Square; one sister, Diana E. Canipe of Kennett Square; eight nieces and nine nephews; and his companion, Susan Toomey.

He was predeceased by one brother, Darrell W. Canipe.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 5:30 to 7:30 Thursday evening, May 15, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street in Kennett Square. His funeral service will follow. Burial will be private.
