Police Log May 1: Missing firearm; bicycle found; gas station robbed

PSP Logo• Someone ripped Merion’s Produce Hut on Route 1 in Concord Township. According to police, the produce shop was broken into sometime overnight between April 28 and 29. The unknown suspect stole a small amount of cash, the report said. Anyone with information is asked to the state police at 484-840-1000.

• DUI charges were filed against a Brookhaven woman following a crash at Route 1 and Hoffman’s Mill Road in Chadds Ford Township. Few details were released, but a police report said Jennifer Lynn Murphy, 34, was charged after the 5 a.m. accident on April 26. The report said an investigation determined her to be DUI and she was arrested, processed and released.

• Police cited Ashley L. Wright, 20, of West Chester, for following too closely after an accident on Route 202 near Pyle Road on April 25. A report said Wright struck another vehicle from behind as the lead car slowed.

• State police from Troop K, Media barracks, said they received a report of a stolen firearm from a Concord Township resident. The weapon was believed taken sometime between April 3 and April 8.

• Police found a multicolored girl’s bicycle in the 200 block of Pole Cat Road in Concord Township on April 27. The make of the bike is Little Miss Matched. Anyone missing such a bicycle should contact Tprs. Brian Maturo or Shanta Felder at 484-840-1000.

• No details were released, but police are investigating the report of a burglary in the 400 block of South Ivy Lane in Concord Township on April 24.

• Police accused 29-year-old Charles Long, of Glen Mills, of retail theft at the Sunoco gas station at 1700 West Chester Pike. The accused was found at the scene. No other information was released.

• A Claymont man was arrested for DUI after a traffic stop on Route 1 at Concord Road on April 25. A report said Dharma Teja Thammu, 24, was pulled over for “numerous” traffic violations. He was driving a black Chevrolet sedan bearing Georgia license plates.

• Police arrested Peter Brennan, 52, of Boothwyn, for DUI on April 23. The report said the accused was stopped for traffic violations on Route 322 at Evergreen Drive in Concord Township at 9:38 p.m.

• One car was disabled, but no injuries were reported following a two-car accident along Route 1 at Brandywine Drive in Chadds Ford Township on April 19. One of the drivers is reportedly from Chadds Ford, while the other is from Texas.
