Funds raised through the Longwood Rotary Club Annual Gala are invested primarily in the local community. In 2013 more than $50,000 was allocated to a variety of projects and to local nonprofit organizations. For example, Longwood Rotary Club was the principal contributor to the new Anson B. Nixon Park playground in Kennett Square. Significant funds were also donated to the Kennett Area Food Cupboard, The Garage youth programs, the Kennett Area Senior Center, the Kennett Area YMCA Good Kids Campaign, Camp Dreamcatcher, and other worthy causes.
