Gladys Bryan Volk of West Grove

Gladys Bryan Volk, 88, of West Grove, died Friday, March 7, at her residence.

Born in Landenberg, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Mae Etta Holton Bryan.

She was a saecretary at the Ohio Casualty and Insurance Co. in West Chester for 30 years, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of the Landenberg United Methodist Church, where she had served as past president of the United Methodist Women and Mission Belles, church membership secretary, Sunday School teacher, and the choir director for 18 years.

Gladys enjoyed flower gardening, singing, and being with her grandchildren. She was a good listener and was known for sending notes and cards to people.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald C. Volk and his wife Carol of Avon, In. and Thomas F. Volk of Landenberg; one daughter, Barbara Underwood and her husband Mark of West Grove; one brother, John Bryan of Montgomery, Ohio; one sister, Mabel Lindencamp of Aberdeen, Md.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Volk, Karen Kinnamen, Christine Hermann (Dan) and Aaron Underwood and three great grandchildren, Konnor Kinnamen, Kamryn Kinnamen and Leah Herrman.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Grace Ford, Dorothy Hansen and Margaret Casson.

You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 9 to 11, Friday morning, March 14, at the Landenberg United Methodist Church, 205 Penn Green Road in Landenberg. Her funeral service will follow. Burial will be in the Kemblesville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kemblesville.
