William H. Dreisbach Jr. of Kennett Square

William H. Dreisbach Jr., 78, of Kennett Square, died Monday, Oct. 8, at his residence. He was the husband of Phyllis McNeal Dreisbach, who died in 1995, and with whom he shared 37 years of marriage.

Born in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late William H. Dreisbach, Sr. and the late Erma Gaul Dreisbach.

Bill was self employed as a farmer, and was well known in both Chester and Lancaster counties.

He was a member of The Waterloo Boys of Southeastern Pa. and the East Lynne Grange No. 1263.

Bill enjoyed custom farming, restoring John Deere tractors and going to the Pennsylvania Farm show in Harrisburg, where he was a frequent winner for his corn.

He served in the US Marine Corps from 1954 to 1958. He was a corporal and a member of the Underwater Demolition Team and later was a military policeman.

He is survived by one daughter, Erma Wood and her husband Ronnie of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; one brother, George “Buddy” Dreisbach of Kennett Square; two sisters, Yvonne Briley of Hockessin, and Betty Crossan of Chadds Ford; one grandson and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Jacqueline Edwards.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street in Kennett Square (Phone: 610-444-4116). His funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.. Burial will be private.
