Anna Reynolds Davis Steele of Kennett Square

Anna Reynolds Davis Steele, 95, of Kennett Square, formerly of Dilworthtown, died Friday, Sept. 7 at Crosslands in Kennett Square. She was the wife of the late Charles Davis, and late in life the wife of the late George Steele.

Born in Pocopson, she was the daughter of the late A. Brinton and Mary Cloud Reynolds. She was a 1935 graduate of Unionville High School and graduated from Goldey College in Delaware.

Anna worked as an accountant for the Dupont Co. until 1946 when she married Charles Davis and became a full time dairy farmer's wife. She was a member of the Birmingham Meeting Religious Society of Friends.She was the secretary/ treasurer of Birmingham Township for 20 years and active in the Inter-State Milk Producers Cooperative, Dilworthtown 4-H and the Chester County Agricultural Extension Committee. Anna was also a member of Kennett Grange 19, Farm Women's Society of Pennsylvania, Homemakers Club, East Marlboro Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital, Birmingham Forum, Needlework Guild, Lesserton Garden Club and the West Chester Planters.

She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Interment will be private in the Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery followed by a memorial service on Monday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Birmingham Friends Meeting, 1245 Birmingham Road.
