Elizabeth B. Smith of Kennett Square

Elizabeth B. Smith, 60, of Kennett Square, died Monday, Aug. 27, at her residence. She was the wife of Michael L. Smith, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage.

Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the Late Robert J. Burke Jr. and Elizabeth Wieland.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, being with her family and friends, and travelling, especially vacationing in Bradenton, Fla.

Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Kennett Square.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Megan Willson and her husband Jeff of Gaithersburg, Md. and Maureen Parker and her husband Matthew of Glen Mills; four brothers, Robert J. Burke III, of Lake Forest, Ill., John Martin Burke and Patrick J. Burke, both of Lincolnshire, Ill., and Timothy J. Burke of Mequon, Wisc.; one sister, Mary B. Walther of Kennett Square,; two grandsons, Finn and Fletcher Willson.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road in West Chester. Burial will be private.
