Jean Renfer Kolb, 88, of West Grove, died
March 10. Jean shared 52 years of marriage with Harry Kolb.
Born in Hughestown, Jean was the
daughter of the late Howard and Hilda Renfer.
In her early career, Jean was a chemist
at DuPont. Later, she was a loving mother and grandmother and a realtor.
Jean belonged to the Seedlings Garden
Club and enjoyed flower arranging, bridge, gourmet cooking, traveling, puzzles,
games, and most recently Wii bowling. She was an active member of St.
Michael’s Lutheran church, serving on the board during a time of growth and
transition and recently working to establish a columbarium. In addition,
Jean was an active member of the Kennett Square/Unionville community, offering
her service in many ways over the years
Jean is survived by her husband Harry;
daughter Catherine Stroup; son Peter Kolb; grandchildren Taylor Kolb, Sarah
Stroup, and Alex Stroup; son-in-law Chris Stroup, and daughter-in-law Lisa Kolb
who love her very much.
Jean’s Memorial Service will be held at
11 a.m. Saturday March 17 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 109 East Doe Run
Road in Unionville, 610-347-0148.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can
be made in her memory to “St. Michaels Lutheran Church – Columbarium Fund” at
