William P. Chandler Sr. of Kennett Square

William P. Chandler Sr., 88, of Kennett Square, died
Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
He was the husband of Wilma Scott Chandler, who died in 1995, and with whom he
shared more than 50 years of marriage.

Born in Centerville, he was the son of the late Joseph H.
and Dorothy E. Sweed Chandler . He lived in Kennett Square since 1947.

Bill attended A.I. DuPont High School.

He was one of the first employees of the General Motors
Assembly Plant on Boxwood Road. He retired in 1987 after 39 years and 9 months
of service.

He is survived by three sons, William P. Chandler, Jr. and
his wife Carol of New Garden, Michael S. Chandler of Kennett Square, and Donald
R. Chandler of Hockessin; one brother, Joseph H. Chandler, Jr. and
sister-in-law, Abby Chandler; 10 grandchildren and twenty two
great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one son, Robert G. Chandler.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 9-11
a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West
State Street, Kennett Square, (Phone: 610-444-4116). His funeral service will
follow. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.
