Guy W. Murdock of Kennett Square

Guy W. Murdock, 93, died Nov. 24, at Crosslands Continuing
Care Retirement Center in Kennett Square following an extended illness. He was
born on Jan. 14, 1918 in Dodgeville, N.Y., and lived in Greenwood, N.Y.,
Johnstown, PA., Ellicott City, Md., Newark Del., and Kennett Square.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering
from Carnegie Technical Institute in 1941.

Guy was a veteran of World War II.He retired from the U.S.
Army Engineering Corps as a lieutenant colonel.

He was a licensed professional electrical engineer and
worked for Pennsylvania Electric Company and Delmarva Electric Company on high
voltage transmission systems.

He was a member of Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church in
Wilmington.

Even in his 90s he remained an expert checker player,
beating most opponents. His family and caregivers remember him for his good
nature and great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anita Travis
Murdock; his children David (Dawn), Larry (Jeanne), and Stephen (Jane); his
grandchildren Randal (Suki), Kelli (Vincent), Stephanie, and Travis; and his
great-grandsons Justin and Jack.

A memorial service is being held at Crosslands 2
p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, with Rev. Dr David Lovelace officiating.
