CF area students at Tatnall named AP Scholars

Twenty-one students from the Tatnall classes of 2011 and
2012 have been named AP Scholars, based on outstanding performance in the AP
exams last spring. AP awards are
given to high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement
in Advance Placement exams and courses. Eight Chadds Ford area residents are
among the honored students.

Chadds Ford area students earning AP Awards are: 

Kyle Birkmeyer, ’11, of Landenberg,
was named a Scholar with Distinction. He is currently a freshman at the
University of Pittsburg, Honors Program.

Katherine Lounsbury, ’11, of Chadds
Ford, was named a Scholar with Distinction. In addition, she is the winner of
Tatnall’s 2011 French Award and was named an Outstanding Senior Athlete. She is
a freshman at the University of Richmond.

Joseph Rollinson, ’11, of Kennett
Square, was named a Scholar with Distinction. His is a member of the Cum Laude
Society, an academic honor society. He was the recipient of numerous awards for
academics and arts including Tatnall’s Excellence in Writing award, the Kaufman
Mathematics Award and awards in chemistry, physics and instrumental music. He
is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University. 

Walter Konyk, ’11, of Chadds Ford,
was named a Scholar with Honor. He
is the 2011 winner of Tatnall’s Computer Science Award and is currently a
freshman at Washington and Lee University.

Michael Schuler, ’11, of Landenberg,
was named a Scholar with Honor. He was the Class President and won the The
Kohler Cup, an athletic award given in memory of Tatnall student, Michael J.
Kohler. He is a freshman at the University of Virginia.

Peter Godshall, ’11, of Chadds Ford,
was named an AP Scholar. He was selected by his classmates for Tatnall’s 2011 Wooden Spoon award, one of the
school’s highest honors. He also
won the school’s Director’s Award for music. He is a freshman at The College of William and Mary.

Katelyn Jackson,’11, of Oxford, was
named an AP Scholar. She was a 2011 recipient of the Outstanding Chorister
award and is a freshman at the College of Charleston.

Baylor Wickes, ’11, of Unionville,
was named an AP Scholar. She is a member of the Cum Laude Society, an academic
honor society and is currently a freshman at George Washington University.
