Raymond Hall of Kennett Square

Raymond Hall, 87, of Kennett Square, died Saturday, Sept.
10, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. Born in Salem, Ohio, he was the
son of he late Lindley and Orpha Hall also of Salem.

Raymond had a heritage as a former Quaker, grew up on a farm
in Ohio. There, he learned skills as an outdoorsman, trapping, hunting, and
fishing. While in Colorado, he was a building contractor, engineer,
outdoorsman, hiker, expedition leader, skier and ski instructor, and
entrepreneur. In the early 1960s, he was the inventor of the Ski-Dek, a huge,
carpeted, perpetual, mechanical hill that was featured (with Ray) in many
national publications and in TV shows. Later in the pool business, he founded
and grew Monarch Pools and Aluma-Crete Industries, also producing spas,
geodesic domes. As an entrepreneur, he also distributed and numerous
health products.

Ray had a passion for many to put their trust in God, and
was involved with many Christian organizations. He supported Market Street
Mission (Morristown, NJ), Campus Crusade for Christ, the Billy Graham
Association, many churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (including Mendham
Hills Chapel and Long Hill Chapel), attended Willowdale Chapel in Kennel
Square. He led numerous people to develop personal faith in Christ, led singles
and recovery minstries and training events, led many bible studies in various
settings.

He was joyful, content, persistent, friendly, loving,
creative, witty, courageous, visionary, a self-starter, a peacemaker, an
encourager, meek, and beloved.

Ray is survived by his three children, Kevin Hall of N.C.,
David Hall of Kennett Square, and Sandy Crawford of Wallingford; 11 beloved
grandchildren, and three sisters; Marjorie Hall, Mildred Bignell and Betty Gullett.

You are invited to visit with Ray's family on Wednesday,
Sept. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Willowdale Chapel, 675 Unionville Road,
Kennett Square. His funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in
Union Hill Cemetery.
