William “Mr. Bill” Davis of Oxford

William “Mr. Bill” Davis, 57, of Oxford, died
Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford. He was the husband
of Karen Hill Davis, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Harry
Davis, Sr. and Eleanor Owens Davis.

Mr. Bill was a housekeeper at Lincoln University,
retiring in 2010 after 17 years of service.

He served his country in the US Army.

He enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, listening to music,
barbecues and being with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters,
Yolanda Hill, Tameka Hill and Merecades Hill all of Kennett Square; one
brother, Harry Davis, Jr. of Coatesville; four sisters, Ruth Ann Davis of West
Grove, Irene Barrett of West Grove, Sara Soto of Wilmington, and Dorothy Davis
of West Grove; one step –son, Andres Peterson of York, twelve grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one brother, John Thomas Davis.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends, from
9:00 to 11:00 on Friday morning, Sept. 9, at Christ Community Fellowship, 356
Chatham Road, West Grove,. His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial
will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.
