Carol Gray Hood of Kennett Square

Carol Gray Hood, 86, of Kennett Square, died Friday, August
5, at Crosslands in Kennett Square. She was the wife of Ralph C. Hood, who died
in 2000, and with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John
Worth and Emma Andrews Gray.

She was a registered nurse, and worked private duty
cases.

Mrs. Hood was a member of the London Grove Friends Meeting
and the Ladies Golf of Monterey Yacht and Country Club.

She was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles,
playing cards, knitting, playing golf, and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph C. Hood, Jr. and his wife
Donna of Kennett Square, and John B. Hood and his wife Edna of Kennett Square;
three daughters, Joanne Mastrippolito and her husband Nick of Coatesville,
Constance Noone and her husband Richard of Cresco, and Christine Lokay of
Stuart, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one brother, Richard Gray.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug.
10, at the London Grove Friends Cemetery, Routes 926 and Newark Road, London
Grove.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution in her memory may be made
to the London Grove Friends Meeting, 500 West Street Road, Kennett Square, PA
