James B. Lysle Jr. of Landenberg

James B. Lysle Jr., 78, of Landenberg, died Saturday, May
28, at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford. He was the husband of Sara Woollens
Lysle, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late James B. and
Emma McMullen Lysle.

He operated the family dairy farm and drove a school bus,
before working as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement.

He was a life long member of the New London Presbyterian
Church, where he served as an elder, deacon and trustee. Jim was a talented
vocalist who sang in the church choir and performed at many weddings, funerals
and church events.

He served the community in many capacities, including
Franklin township supervisor, Avon Grove School Board member and an Avon Grove
Little League

Coach.

He enjoyed working on his lawn and in his garden, and
sitting in the back yard surrounded by his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, James
H. Lysle and his wife Jane of Oxford, Richard D. Lysle and his wife Juanita of
Lincoln University, and Roger E. Lysle and his wife Anne Marie of Lincoln
University,; one daughter, Jeanne Marie Moore and her husband Jeffrey of
Landenberg; one brother, Wilson Lysle and his wife Beverly of Avondale; one
sister, Betty McDowell of Lincoln University; six grandchildren, three step
grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 6-8
p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the New London Presbyterian Church, 1986 Newark Road
(Route 896), New London, and again from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, June 2 at the church.
His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining church
cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New
London Presbyterian Church, 125 Saginaw Road, Lincoln University, PA 19352.
