Janet Lopez 87, of West Grove, died Monday, April 11, at the
Chester County Hospital, West Chester. She was the wife of the late Nestor
Lopez, who passed away in 1990, and with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.
Born in Kennett Square, she was the daughter of the late
Albert and Mary Doyle Press.
Janet was a bookkeeper at Press Brothers Exxon in Hockessin,
for 45 years, retiring in 1995.
She was as avid Philadelphia Flyers fan and was acknowledged
by the team as one of their oldest avid fans.
A devoted mother, she enjoyed being with her family and was
very close to her brothers and sisters. She loved to cook for everyone.
She is survived by two sons, Theodore Lopez and his wife
Kerstin of Hockessin, and Robert A. Lopez of West Grove; two daughters, Janice
Lee Lopez and her husband Michael Cherniski of Watkinsville, Ga. and Donna
Maria Maston and her husband Charles of West Chester; one sister, Virginia
Briccotto of Odessa, Del., one grandchild, Evan C. Smith and two
great-grandchildren, Dylan C. Smith and Drake G. Smith, and many nieces and
nephews..
She was predeceased by one grandson, Joseph C. Blackman,
III, four sisters, Pauline Gamble, Barbara Price, Marion Goff and Dorothy
Palmer, six brothers, John Press, William Press, Albert Press, Jr., Charles
Press, Herbert Press and George Press.
You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 10-11
a.m. on Friday, April 15, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State
Street, Kennett Square, (Phone: 610-444-4116), Her funeral service will
follow at 11:00. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett
Square.
