John P. Swan, 85, of West Chester, died at his
residence on Monday, March 8.  He was the husband of Ann Tucker Swan who
passed away in 2004, and with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Born
in Peterborough, England, he was the son of the late John Woollett and Sybil
Spark Swan Wolfe. 

He
worked in the International Marketing Communications department at the DuPont
Company in Wilmington, De, retiring in 1986.

John
served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He
is survived by his wife’s cousin, Betty Leighton and her husband Arthur and
their five children, his niece, Heather Rutherford, and two nephews, Arthur
Tudor Tucker and Andrew St. George Tucker, and many friends.

A
memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 27 at the Birmingham
Friends Meeting, 1245 Birmingham Road, Birmingham Township.

In
lieu of flowers an contribution may be made to the S P C A of Chester County,
1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380 or to the Pennsylvania
Horticultural Society, 100 North 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA
19103.
