Naomi S. “Stanley” Ortendahl, 92,
of Lancaster, formerly of Kennett Square, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, at
the Willow Valley Retirement Community in Lancaster.  She was the wife of
Raymond B. Ortendahl, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. Her first
husband, Robert S. Stanley, Sr., with whom she shared 44 years of marriage, died
in 1982.
 

Born
in Turtle Creek, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Minna Leax Ostien.

She
was a Bookkeeper/Secretary for the Kennett Consolidated School District,
Kennett Square, for 18 years, retiring in 1974.

Mrs.
Ortendahl was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Kennett Square
and after moving to Lancaster, she attended the Grace Baptist Church in
Lancaster.

Along
with her husband, she enjoyed travelling and camping.

She
was an accomplished counted cross stitcher, who won many awards for her work.
She also taught a counted cross stitch class at Willow Valley.

In
addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Linda J. Smith and
her husband Joel of Bowie, Md.; one son, Robert S. Stanley, Jr. and his wife
Lonnie of Kennett Squar; one step-daughter, Beverly Reese of West Chester;
eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She
was predeceased by one son, David R. Stanley and one daughter, Janet S. Banker.

You
are invited to visit with her family and friends from 10 to 11 p.m on Wednesday,
Feb. 24, at the Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster. Her
funeral service will follow at 11 p.m.. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Union
Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.

In
lieu of flowers a contribution in Naomi’s memory may be made to a charity
of your choice.
