James “Randy” Hampton, 49, of West Grove, died Saturday, Aug. 8, at his home. He was the husband of Sandra Seifred Hampton, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in West Grove, he was the son of James W. Hampton Jr. of Nottingham, and Hazel V. Owens of Jennersville.
He was a 1978 graduate of Avon Grove High School. He was employed by W.L. Gore for 15 years as a die cutter. Prior to working for W.L. Gore, Randy worked for NVF of Kennett Square, for many years.
Randy attended West Grove United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and bowled in many area leagues. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, and riding his Harley. Baseball was a big part of Randy’s life. He rarely missed his son, Joshua’s baseball games. He also played softball in the Mason-Dixon League in Oxford for many years.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Jeremy Randall Hampton and Joshua Ryan Hampton, both of West Grove; three sisters, Donna Hampton of York, Lenna Pierson of Landenberg, and Crystal Alexander of Lancaster; his step mother, Linda Roberts Hampton; many nieces and nephews; a special sister-in-law, Barbara Seifred; and his faithful companion, Chance.
Randy was predeceased by one daughter, Rachel Alexandra Hampton.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug.t 11 at Foulk & Grieco Funeral Home, 200 Rose Hill Road, West Grove, (610-869-2685) and again on Wednesday, August 12 from 10-11 a.m. at West Grove United Methodist Church, 300 North Guernsey Road, West Grove, PA, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
