James Gerald “Jimbo” “Bear” Mahaffey, age 58, of Toughkenamon, died Sunday, July 26 at Chester County Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Rhoda Billings Mahaffey, and with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

Born on March 4, 1951, in West Grove, he was the son of the late Raleigh James and Dorothy Marie Wood Mahaffey.

Jimbo was employed by G. Guizzetti & Sons for the past 18 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, hunting, fishing, and working on his classic ’64 Chevelle.

In addition to his wife Rhoda, he is survived by two sons, James R. Mahaffey and his wife Laura of N..J and Jason L. Mahaffey of Toughkenamon, two sisters, Judy Dishmon of Mountain City, Tenn. and Mary Pairo of Ocala, Fla, four grandchildren, Joanna, Joy E., James T., Makenzie L. Mahaffey, and another grandchild on the way.

Jimbo was predeceased by a sister, Patsy Mahaffey.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 10:00 to 12:00 on Thursday morning, July 30, 2009, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, (610-444-4116). His funeral service will follow at noon. Burial will be in Nottingham Baptist Cemetery, Nottingham, PA.
