Jeanne C. Hand, age 88 of Chadds Ford died May 5 at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Hand, Sr., who died in 1992.
Born in Holmesburg, she was the daughter of the late William Blaise Nealon and the late Katherine Marie Rodgers Nealon.
Jeanne was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where she served as a nurse.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kennett Square.
Jeanne traveled extensively and enjoyed her two westies, gardening, bird watching and swimming. She was a very sweet and gentle lady, who left footprints on the hearts of those who knew here
She is survived by a daughter, Rita C. Hand of Sandown, NH; a son, Robert S. Hand, Jr. of Kennett Square; a sister, Joan Sutcliff of Exton; and a brother, Charles Nealon of Coral Springs, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be private.
