Ethel E. Harris Thompson of Toughkenamon

Ethel E. Harris Thompson, 93 of Toughkenamon, died Sunday, May 3, at the Jennersville Regional Hospital. She was the wife of Palmer E. Thompson, Sr., with whom she shared 41 years of marriage, and who passed away in 1984.

Born in Newark, Del., she was the daughter of the late Hollie H. and Grace Lurty Harris

She had worked for Charles Nigro Mushrooms in Cochranville as a mushroom packer.

Mrs. Thompson attended the Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing cards with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Donald H. Thompson and his wife Peggy of Unionville, and Palmer E. Thompson, Jr. of Conway, SC; one daughter Grace Thompson Allen and her husband Dusty of Toughkenamon, six grandchildren and six great-grandsons.

She was predeceased by one son, Richard W. Thompson, one grandson, Steve Thompson, three brothers, Clarence H. William E. and Howard L.Harris, one sister, Helen Strzalkowski.

You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 9:30 to 11:00 on Friday morning, May 8, 2009 at the Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church, 408 Bayard Road, Kennett Square. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.
