Internships available at DMNH

The Delaware Museum of Natural History is accepting applications for its Summer Internship Program for college and high school students. Interns will discover the importance of research collections, gain hands-on training working with collections objects, and learn about career opportunities at natural history museums.

Internships run from June 15 through Aug. 15. The deadline for applications is April 15 for college students; May 11 for high school students.

Students will assist collections staff with specimen preparation, data entry, routine collection maintenance activities, special conservation projects, and collections documentation. Opportunities are available in both the mollusk and bird departments of the museum.

"This is a great way for budding biologists and curators to explore their interests in nature and science, while also building up their résumés," said Director of Collections Jean Woods, Ph.D.
