Our speaker is, Andrew Outten, the historical programs manager of the Society of the Cincinnati and its American Revolution Institute in Washington, D.C. The program will focus on William Faden, one of the most influential British mapmakers in the late eighteenth century. Curiously, Faden reproduced his 1778 map of the Battle of Brandywine in 1784 with significant alterations. Drawing from his recent research, Mr. Outten examines the motives behind the production of a later edition and the general complexities of map production in the eighteenth century.
