Media Barracks
• Police said they arrested Gabriel Jackson, 22, of Wake Forest, N.C., in Birmingham Township on Dec. 31 at 11:26 p.m. The report said police made a traffic stop just north of Dilworthtown Road after observing traffic violations. Investigation led to police determining that Jackson was driving under the influence and was in possession of marijuana
• California Tortilla on Town Centre Drive in Concord Township was ripped off to the tune of $2,115, according to a police report. That report said someone who might have been a former employee stole $300 in gift cards and another $1,815 in cash. State police from the Media barracks are investigating. The theft was reported at 3:08 p.m. on Dec. 31.
• Police are also investigating the theft of $3 worth of alcohol taken from the Acme in Concord. The thief, who fled in a silver Ford Focus, is believed to be a juvenile male, police said. The incident happened at 9:33 p.m. on Dec. 31.
• Two men from Chester were arrested for shoplifting at the Acme in Concord Township on Dec. 22. Police identified the pair as Shawn Logan, 39, and John Marshall, 50. According to the report, the two stole more than $200 worth of seafood from the supermarket. Police said they found them in a 2013 Nissan Rogue in Chester, they fled but were apprehended after a short pursuit.
• Police arrested a 33-year-old man from Collingdale — not identified in the report — for shoplifting at Wegmans on Dec. 19. The report said he filled a blue bag with about 21 grocery items and a box of diapers. The items were valued at $193.
Avondale Barracks
• A 59-year-old Paoli man was arrested for DUI in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 31. The report, which didn’t identify the suspect, said police observed a 2014 Ford F250 Supercab traveling well below the speed limit and failing to maintain its lane of travel. When police made contact with the driver, the report said, indicators of impairment were obvious. The incident happened at 9:30 p.m. on W. Doe Run Road at Green Valley Road.
• Police said they arrested a 31-year-old man from Media on DUI charges in Kennett Township on Christmas Eve. According to the report, the arrest followed a one-car crash on Bayard Road at 11:47 p.m. The report did not identify the driver.
• A 45-year-old man from Avondale— not identified in the report — was arrested for theft by deception in Pocopson Township. The report said an elderly couple paid The American Chimney Group $9,000 to work on a residential chimney and fireplace, but the work was never completed.
• Police arrested a 21-year-old woman from Landenberg for DUI. A report said police initiated a traffic stop on Route 1 at Bayard Road in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 8 shortly before 1:30 a.m. The driver was not identified in the report.
Kennett Square Police Department
Borough police said they filed charges of making terroristic threats against Judith Garcia-Gutierrez. According to the report, officers were sent to a residence in the 200 block of E. Linden Street for a report of threats made over the telephone. The officers were advised, the report said, that Garcia-Gutierrez had joined a phone call with juveniles and allegedly threatened to harm them. After further investigation and interviews, charges of terroristic threats and harassment were filed.
