Longwood Gardens’ Garden Railway is on display until Jan. 12.

If the two model train displays at the Brandywine Museum of Art aren’t enough, model train lovers should check out the Garden Railway at Longwood Gardens. Longwood considers the display “a fanciful blend of horticulture, engineering, and lighthearted fun awaits guests of all ages with this very special display located outdoors near the Beer Garden.” The display is on view until Jan. 12, during regular Gardens Hours, weather permitting. Free with garden admission. Timed admission tickets are required.

The final two days of Kennett Square’s Holiday Village Market are this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The market is held at The Creamery, 401 Birch Street. More than 59 vendors rotate offering a wide range of unique gifts, handcrafted goods, and vintage treasures. From home décor and jewelry to artisanal foods and local artwork, there’s something for everyone. Daily event schedules will be available at holidayvillagemarket.org.

Dan Doubet Jewelers is celebrating its 120th anniversary.

It’s party time at Dan Doubet Jewelers in Olde Ridge Village. Doubet is celebrating the 120th anniversary of the family business. There’s a Christmas party at the store from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, and a storewide sale of up to 50 percent off until Dec. 24.

The conditional use hearing for David Auto to open a detailing shop and carwash in Concord Township reconvenes on Monday, Dec. 16. Conditional use approval is needed for the carwash proposed for 830 Conchester Highway across from Evergreen Drive. An existing but vacant home on the site would be demolished. The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the municipal building.

Kids can create their own party kits at the Chester County History Center on Saturday, Dec. 28.

Get ready to Have a Ball with the Chester County History Center. At the Have a Ball event, children can create their own party kit, including making their own party hat, noisemakers, resolutions, and other fun crafts and games with a New Year theme. They can even decorate a cookie to enjoy as a sweet treat when the ball drops on Dec. 31. Admission of $10 includes all-day access to our museum exhibits, hands-on History Lab, and our Season of Lights holiday cultural displays.
