Kennett Library will host the Kennett Arts Festival at Borough Hall on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22.

This two-day celebration of art in Kennett Square will showcase the work of over 100 local and regional artists and artisans in various mediums and price points.

Kennett Library Executive Director Chris Manna, said, “As the seasons change and bring in new fall colors, we are excited to bring back the third annual Kennett Arts Festival. Local music, food trucks, artists, and a great community all come together to provide cultural enrichment as part of the Kennett Library’s vision to be the catalyst for lifelong learning and discovery.”

The Kennett Arts Festival will also feature live music, family activities, and a selection of local food vendors, including beer and wine. Food and beverage vendors include Natalie’s Fine Foods, Butter and Love, Sweet Amelia’s, and Braeloch Brewing. Live music includes Lauren Mendelssohn, Lily Enos, Strays & Misfits, and Evan Sternbach.

Programming will feature Centered Clay Studio, activities with The Garage, Mighty Writers, and Kennett Area Senior Center. Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH) will have their Justice Restored book display as well as children's book giveaways.

The library will feature several workshops for adults:

Qwerty Club Presents: Come type on vintage manual typewriters! Write a letter, a poem, a story, a grocery list, a love note… in style!

Make A Zine! Zines are little self-created booklets that give you the creative freedom to say what you want, how you want… all within a single 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper! Magic!

Erasure Creation: Using old books you are invited to find new life in old text. By blacking out, circling, cutting away, coloring, and collaging, you can create something fresh and new from something tired and old.

Calming Coloring: Take some time out from the excitement to quietly color on some lovely coloring sheets to calm your mind and create some beauty

Libraries are becoming known as places of creativity. What better way for the library to reflect its commitment to community creation and local art than through an arts festival?

Event times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. And will be held outside, rain or shine at 600 S. Broad Street. Free parking is available at Kennett High School (across the street).

Admission is $5 for adults, children under 12 get in free.

All proceeds will benefit the Kennett Library.
