Media Barracks
• Lululemon in Concord Township was ripped off again last month. State police said they arrested five people, including four teenagers, on June 26 for stealing more than $5,000 worth of merchandise from the store. The report didn’t identify any of the suspects, not even that of the 22-year-old. Police said the five fled in a red Nissan Altima but were apprehended. The incident happened at 4:14 p.m. on June 26.
• State police are investigating a reported identity theft. The victim, not named, is a 50-year-old man from Chadds Ford. According to the report, a person unknown to the victim opened a Bank of America business checking account without approval. The incident was reported on July 18.
Avondale Barracks
• State police from the Avondale barracks are investigating a wire fraud transfer involving $1.6 million in cryptocurrency. The fraud took place during a three-month- period, between April 3 and July 21 of this year in Pocopson Township. The victim is a 51-year-old man. According to the report, the unknown suspects used a third-party communication service to conceal their identity.
• Police are also investigating the theft of two iPhones with a combined value of $2,000. The theft took place in East Marlborough Township and was reported on July 21. The report did not say where the phones were kept at the time of the theft.
Kennett Square Police Department
An arrest warrant was issued for a Thomas Simon (age and municipality not released) on July 12, police said. According to the report, borough police received a report of invasion of privacy on Jan. 4. The victims said Simon had been secretly video-recording them without their knowledge from October through December of last year. Upon further investigation, police said, charges of interception, disclosure, or use of wire and invasion of privacy were filed.
