Roadwork for week of June 27

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of June 28 through July 5. The department recommends that motorists allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

Lenape Road in Birmingham Township will require lane closures between Pocopson Road and Creek Road on Tuesday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 1, for survey work, scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On Route 202 in Concord and Chadds Ford townships, lane closures will be needed for roadwork in connection with the Wegmans shopping center between Applied Card Way and Route 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Oct. 1.

The Wegmans project will also necessitate lane closures on Route 1 in Concord Township in both directions between Brinton Lake Road and Route 202 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Oct. 1.

On southbound Route 1, 24-hour lane closures will be needed between Thornton and Conchester roads for work scheduled through July 7 on the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia site.

PECO Energy will close one lane on Boot Road between Windsor Drive and Wilson Drive in East Goshen Township, beginning Monday, June 29, for the installation of a gas main. East Boot Road will be reduced to one lane weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Monday, July 6.

Motorists on Boot Road in West Goshen Township will experience lane restrictions between Clover Mill Road and National Road through July 31. Crews will be working on road-widening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Burnt Mill Road in Kennett Township is closed and detoured between Norway and Spring Mill roads indefinitely while crews prepare for repairs to a bridge that collapsed on April 24.

Overnight lane closures will be in place on Tuesday night, June 30, on northbound Route 202 north for road and bridge construction. Route 202 north will be reduced from two lanes to one between Route 30 and Route 401 from 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1.

In addition, ongoing construction at the Route 202 bridges over Route 401 and Planebrook Road in East Whiteland Township will require periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes on Monday, June 29, through Thursday, July 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 100 will continue to be restricted to one lane in both directions between Sunrise Drive and Route 113 in Uwchlan and West Whiteland townships, from Monday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road widening.

On Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, one lane will be closed on I-76 west between Girard Avenue and Montgomery Drive; and on Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, July 3, one lane will be closed on I-95 south between Route 63 and Academy Road. Crews will be doing bridge repairs.

One lane will remain closed on Interstate 95 North at the Commodore Barry Bridge for construction through July 14.
