Raziel Mireles Castaneda of Avondale

Raziel Mireles Castaneda, 17, of Avondale, died Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Jennersville Regional Hospital, as a result of a drowning accident at Nixon Park in Kennett Square.

Born in Almoloya De Alquisiras, Mexico, he was the son of Aurelio Mireles De La Fuente and Carmen Castaneda Lopez of Avondale.

Raziel was entering his senior year at Avon Grove High School. His dream was to attend Penn State after graduation.

He was a member of St. Rocco’s Catholic Church where he helped with CCD classes.

He enjoyed listening to “Corridos” music, had a great sense of humor and was loved by everyone.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Israel Gonzalo Mireles Castaneda, of Wilmington, Juventino Aurelio Mireles Castaneda, of Pittsburgh, and Nestor Mireles Castaneda of Avondale, and two sisters, Deyanira Mireles Castaneda, of Kennett Square, and Ana Carmen Mireles Castaneda, of Avondale.

He was predeceased by one brother, Uriel Mireles Castaneda.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 4 to 7 on Friday, Sept. 5, at St. Rocco’s Catholic Church, 333 Sunny Dell Road in Avondale. His funeral Mass will follow at 7. Burial will be in Mexico.
