Vincent “Jim” Bruno Stella, II, 83, of Baker City, Ore., formerly of Landenberg, died Tuesday, April 16, at his residence. He was the husband of Peggy Snyder Stella, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Placido and Mary Spinato Stella.

Jim was a brick mason, retiring in 2006.

He served his country as a military policeman in the U.S. Marine Corps, and as a civilian employee for the government to 20 years.

He loved the outdoors, wildlife watching, traveling, and practical jokes, but his greatest love was being with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Vincent Stella and his wife Toni of Oxford; two daughters, Dawn Bishop and her husband Timothy of Baker City, Ore. and Shannon Keck and her husband Robert of Baker City, Ore. and five  grandchildren, Cierra Keck of Baker City, Ore., and Skyler, Jordan, Vincenzo and Chase Stella, all of Oxford. He was predeceased by one brother, Jack Stella and two sisters, Sandy Bogdon and Marie Hartman.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the Union Hill Cemetery, Route 82 in Kennett Square.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the Vincent B. Stella Memorial Fund, c/o Banner Bank, 2024 Washington Avenue, Baker City, OR 97814
