Robert “Bob” P.
Pennington, 74, of Avondale, died Friday, May 7 at the Chester County Hospital.
He was the husband of Joan Lafferty Pennington, with whom he shared 57 years of
marriage.
Born in North
Wilkesboro, N.C., he was a son of the late John Roger and Agnes Barker
Pennington.
Bob was a
mechanic working for Delaware Engineering & Fabrication Company in
Landenberg, retiring in 2001. In recent years he worked as a security guard for
Modern Mushroom Company.
Bob enjoyed
hunting, NASCAR and Phillies baseball.
Survivors include
in addition to his wife, two sons, Robert F. Pennington and his wife Eileen of
Landenberg, Charles W. Pennington of Avondale, two daughters, Patricia K.
Kennedy and her husband Jeffery of Landenberg and Karen L. Potter of Kirkwood,
five grandsons, Stephen, Thomas, Benjamin and his wife Ashley, Charles and
David, one great grandson and two great grand daughters. He is also survived by
three brothers, John, James and Richard and seven sisters, Nola, Marie, Doris,
Lorma, MaryJane, Barbara and Wanda.
A funeral service
will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday May 12, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home
Inc. (610-444-4116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square. Family and friends may
visit with the family from 9-11 a.m. before the service. Interment will be in
Union Hill Cemetery.
