Ruth F. Johnson, age 89, of Landenberg, died Sunday, May 3, at the Pocopson Home in West Chester. She was the wife of Arlington “OLLIE” S. Johnson, Sr., who passed away in 2005, and with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.
Born in Kent Co., Md., she was the daughter of the late George and Emma Mabel Wilson.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed travelling, watching TV and needlework. She also was an avid gardener.
She is survived by one daughter, Christina Russell of Wilmington, Del., six sons, Arlington “Jay” S. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Ethel of Coatesville, Wayne D. Johnson and his wife Janet of Harrington, Del., Lamont Johnson of Wilmington, Tyrone Johnson of Landenberg, William Johnson of San Diego, Calif. and Anthony R. Johnson of Kennett Square, sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren., sister-in-law, Elva Daniels, nieces, nephews and a devoted niece, Doris Bowling
Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by three sons, Gary, Larry and Gregory Johnson, four brothers and four sisters.
